With a career that bridges academia, healthcare, and public service, he has led the creation of transformative programs in healthcare, education, disability care, and rural development.
A multi-disciplinary professional, Shankar holds academic degrees in Public Health, Hospital Administration, and Psychology. He is a Research Scholar in Development Studies, with a focus on building sustainable, community-centered models for empowerment and inclusion. He is also a Fellow in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Local Governance, reflecting his commitment to aligning grassroots action with global development frameworks.
Through his leadership, Sahara has grown into a platform that combines institutional capability with community participation, working tirelessly to improve the lives of children with disabilities, senior citizens, rural populations, and economically marginalized groups.Matam Shankar continues to inspire and guide a dedicated team that shares his vision of building a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable society.

Prathima Sambram serves as the Executive Director of Sahara, a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering inclusive healthcare, rehabilitation, and social welfare services across India. A qualified development professional, she brings a wealth of experience in designing and executing multi-sectoral programs, particularly in the fields of public health, disability care, community outreach, and rural development.
Known for her meticulous attention to micro-management and operational detail, Prathima ensures that all programs are implemented with efficiency, transparency, and a deep commitment to beneficiary outcomes. Her leadership has significantly strengthened Sahara’s capacity to reach marginalized and vulnerable populations, making essential services more accessible, affordable, and sustainable. Shivanand Matam serves as the Director of Finance & CSR at Sahara Health and Development Society, bringing a solid foundation of expertise from his extensive career in multinational corporations. With senior management experience at Genpact, Bank of America, DXC Technology, Capgemini & ProKarma, and other leading firms, he has developed deep proficiency in financial strategy, compliance, risk management, and budgetary control.
Holding a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, Shivanand plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial sustainability and accountability of Sahara’s diverse programs. His leadership enables the organization to navigate complex funding structures, streamline operations, and uphold transparency in the utilization of donor and CSR contributions.
A results-oriented professional, Shivanand Matam is instrumental in aligning Sahara’s financial systems with its mission of inclusive development, ensuring that resources are optimally managed to maximize social impact.

Mr. Ravinder Rathod serves as the Administrative Officer at Sahara Health and Development Society, playing a key role in ensuring the organization’s smooth and accountable operations. A Commerce graduate, he brings both financial acumen and administrative discipline to his responsibilities.
His core functions include overseeing transparent accounting practices, enforcing rigorous financial due diligence, managing academic institution operations, ensuring legal compliance, and coordinating banking processes and procurement activities.
With a strong focus on system integrity and operational efficiency, Mr. Rathod supports the organization in maintaining high standards of governance, compliance, and resource management, contributing significantly to Sahara’s mission-driven work.
